Pacemaker Implantation

Pacemaker Implantation

A pacemaker is a small electronic device inserted by our doctors that help in regulating electrical impulses. Usually, the sinoatrial node present in the right atrium helps in infusing the electrical impulses for the heart to function.

But many times, we come across cases where the sinoatrial node malfunctions. However, a pacemaker will help to improve the problems due to the sinoatrial node.

Pacemaker implantation takes place through the following procedure:

  • The doctor will insert a long intravenous line IV into your arms or hand.
  • The nurses will apply sedation and anaesthesia through the intravenous line.
  • The doctor will make an incision point through the chest.
  • The catheter tube passed through the heart along with the pacemaker will make sure its exact transplantation.
